# Keyboard shortcuts

Your right hand stays on the mouse while your left hand moves between charts, picks drawing tools and opens windows from the keyboard. With both hands at work, you reach what you need faster than through the menus.

Most shortcuts act on the active chart, the one with the blue border. Click a chart to make it active. The keys below are written for Windows, and they work whatever language your keyboard is set to, Persian or Arabic for example.

## Charts and workspaces

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Search for a symbol</td><td><code>Ctrl+K</code></td></tr><tr><td>Open <strong>Workspaces</strong></td><td><code>.</code> (period)</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Save workspace</strong></td><td><code>Ctrl+S</code></td></tr><tr><td>Make the next chart of a multi-chart layout active</td><td><code>Tab</code></td></tr><tr><td>Make the previous chart active</td><td><code>Shift+Tab</code></td></tr><tr><td>Maximize the active chart, or bring the layout back</td><td><code>Alt+Enter</code> or <code>Alt+click</code> on a chart</td></tr><tr><td>Turn fullscreen mode on or off</td><td><code>Shift+F</code></td></tr><tr><td>Open the <strong>Watchlists</strong> window</td><td><code>Shift+W</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show or hide the <strong>Symbols Panel</strong></td><td><code>Shift+S</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show or hide the <strong>4CM-AI Panel</strong></td><td><code>Shift+4</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show or hide the <strong>Drawings toolbar</strong></td><td><code>Shift+D</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show the previous symbol of the watchlist</td><td><code>↑</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show the next symbol of the watchlist</td><td><code>↓</code></td></tr><tr><td>Move the chart one candle back</td><td><code>←</code></td></tr><tr><td>Move the chart one candle forward</td><td><code>→</code></td></tr><tr><td>Zoom in</td><td><code>Ctrl+↑</code></td></tr><tr><td>Zoom out</td><td><code>Ctrl+↓</code></td></tr><tr><td>Scroll the chart left or right</td><td><code>Shift+mouse wheel</code></td></tr><tr><td>Open <strong>Go to date</strong></td><td><code>Alt+G</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Reset chart view</strong></td><td><code>Alt+R</code></td></tr><tr><td>Reset the view of every chart in the layout</td><td><code>Ctrl+Alt+R</code></td></tr><tr><td>Turn the logarithmic price scale on or off</td><td><code>Alt+L</code></td></tr><tr><td>Turn the percent price scale on or off</td><td><code>Alt+P</code></td></tr><tr><td>Show or hide session separators on every chart</td><td><code>Ctrl+Y</code></td></tr><tr><td>Add an alert at the current price</td><td><code>Alt+A</code></td></tr><tr><td>Open this list of shortcuts</td><td><code>Ctrl+/</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

The arrow keys and `Tab` work on the charts, except while you type in a text box or while a window or menu is open. `↑` and `↓` follow your watchlist in the order the watchlist panel shows it. They use the list and the market tab (Forex, Cryptos and so on) you chose last. They work while the panel is hidden too. They skip section headers and collapsed sections, and stop at the first and last row.

## Drawing tools

<table><thead><tr><th>Tool</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Trend Line</strong></td><td><code>Alt+T</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Horizontal Line</strong></td><td><code>Alt+H</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Horizontal Ray</strong></td><td><code>Alt+J</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Vertical Line</strong></td><td><code>Alt+V</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Cross Line</strong></td><td><code>Alt+C</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Fib Retracement</strong></td><td><code>Alt+F</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Rectangle</strong></td><td><code>Alt+Shift+R</code></td></tr><tr><td>Measure a move with the ruler (click again to finish)</td><td><code>Shift+click</code></td></tr><tr><td>Put the drawing tool away and go back to the cursor</td><td><code>Esc</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

## Working with drawings

Click a drawing to select it first.

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Select more than one drawing</td><td><code>Ctrl+click</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Clone</strong> a drawing as you move it</td><td><code>Ctrl+drag</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Copy</strong> the selected drawings</td><td><code>Ctrl+C</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Paste</strong> them on the active chart</td><td><code>Ctrl+V</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Group</strong> the selected drawings</td><td><code>Ctrl+G</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Ungroup</strong> them</td><td><code>Ctrl+U</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Remove</strong> the selected drawings</td><td><code>Delete</code> or <code>Backspace</code></td></tr><tr><td>Move one point of a brush or highlighter drawing</td><td><code>Shift+drag</code> the point</td></tr><tr><td>Clear the selection, or cancel a drawing you have started</td><td><code>Esc</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

## Undo and redo

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Undo</td><td><code>Ctrl+Z</code></td></tr><tr><td>Redo</td><td><code>Ctrl+Shift+Z</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

Undo first reverses zooms made with the **Zoom In** tool, then drawing and layout changes. Redo goes forward the same way. Zooming with `Ctrl+↑` or `Ctrl+↓` is not part of this history.

## Bar Replay

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Start <strong>Bar Replay</strong> on the active chart, or leave it</td><td><code>Alt+B</code></td></tr><tr><td>Play or pause</td><td><code>Shift+↓</code></td></tr><tr><td>Step one candle forward</td><td><code>Shift+→</code></td></tr><tr><td>Step one candle back</td><td><code>Shift+←</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

Play, pause and the steps work while the active chart is replaying.

## Snapshots

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Download image</strong></td><td><code>Ctrl+Alt+S</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Copy image</strong></td><td><code>Ctrl+Shift+S</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Copy link</strong></td><td><code>Alt+S</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

## The Esc key

Each press of `Esc` backs out of one thing, in this order:

1. It leaves fullscreen mode.

2. It brings the layout back from a maximized chart.

3. It puts the drawing tool away and goes back to the cursor.

Every press also clears the drawing selection and closes the ruler. `Esc` closes most windows and menus too, and cancels picking a chart line for an alert. When a press closes a window or menu, the list above waits for the next press.

## Elsewhere in the Web App

<table><thead><tr><th>Action</th><th>Shortcut</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Send your message in an AI chat</td><td><code>Enter</code></td></tr><tr><td>Start a new line in an AI chat</td><td><code>Shift+Enter</code></td></tr><tr><td>Paste a screenshot into the trade you are viewing in the AI Trading Journal</td><td><code>Ctrl+V</code></td></tr><tr><td>Go to the next step of a tutorial</td><td><code>Enter</code>, <code>Space</code> or <code>→</code></td></tr><tr><td>Go back one step in a tutorial</td><td><code>←</code></td></tr><tr><td>Leave a tutorial</td><td><code>Esc</code></td></tr></tbody></table>
